Congrats To Martin On Becoming A Full-Time Blogger!!

I finally got around to reading my RSS feeds today and I was stunned to see that my blogging partner in crime, Martin from gHacks, had quit his job and become a full-time blogger! Martin and I have worked together for a long time, and I’m glad that he’s achieved a goal he’s wanted to hit for a long time. Congratulations mate and I can’t wait to see how gHacks develops going forwards, and I hope you continue to share what you learn ;-)

My own plans for going full-time have taken a bit of a hit recently. I got a mini-promotion at work that has set me up well for an even bigger promotion in 12-18 months. My original problogger plan was to quit next summer if I hit a certain earnings target, but I think I’m going to wait around a bit to see if I get the promotion first. I just think it’d be silly to quit when I might be on the cusp of going up a notch, as if the problogging gig doesn’t work out, then hopefully I’ll be able to re-enter the rat race at the new higher level, rather than having to do my time again at my current level.

  • Hope you reach your target. It's always good to set goals like yours, even if you end up changing your mind about going full time once you hit the target. Gives you something to aim for and focuses your blogging more effectively I find!
  • That's great when you have 2 good options to choose from. I think if/when I were in that position, I would definitely go problogger. But, I can't blame you for hanging on to a good paying day job for now.
