Friday Fun: Lewis Hamilton Top Gear Fast Lap

On Sunday the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award will be televised, where the British public will choose the best sportsman in a phone poll.  Last year Zara Phillips won which I thought was absolutely ridiculous, especially given the achievements of boxers Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe.

Both Ricky and Joe have had strong years, with Ricky fighting Floyd Mayweather on Saturday night in what will be a belter.  However, they’ve both got Lewis Hamilton to contend with, who has burst onto the F1 scene this year.  Lewis is such an amazing talent - just check out this amazing fast lap on a wet and oily track on Top Gear!

I’ve been following Lewis’ career for about 5 years as my mate Dollarman who’s a major petrolhead has been raving about Lewis so much that I couldn’t avoid it.  He may not have won the F1 championship this year, but I’d put money on him winning next year.

Another category on the night is Overseas Sports Personality of the Year.  Who do you think should win this?  For me it has to be Roger Federer.
