Tagging the Traffic Monster to Your Site
Link Building
After analyzing many SEO methods, I’ve come to believe that link building may be the most critical, as well as overlooked marketing tactic. If you want to make money from blogging, it is imperative to start building links along with content. Content may be King, but link building is Emperor; and in the arena of blogging, tag and pinging is a surefire way to amass an army of links.
Tagging and Pinging
Tagging and pinging is an effective method to drive search bots to crawl your website. The ebook “Blog and Ping” described this technique and made the author a wealthy man because it worked… however, its power had long diminished.
For the uninformed, a  ping occurs when a blog is updated. Imagine a ping as a beacon to search engine servers, alerting them that a blog has new content. The ping servers then check the blog to unearth for updates. Hence tag and ping ultimately helps to get your blog indexed by the search engines as there are many different sites which you can ping, all of which boost recognition of your blog and its relevance based on tags and content.
Please, tag and ping with caution. Rapid pinging can result in search engines branding your blog as splog (spam blogs). A blacklist kicks your site off the search indices in a few days. I’ve conferred with some web masters and found that it’s best to avoid these ping sites:
1. a2b.cc
2. pingomatic.com
3. pingoat.com
A Bit More onTaggingÂ
The “Tagging method” hit critical mass in 2007, after tag sites like Del.icio.us and Netscape employed tags to categorize entries.
Tagging enables you to tell “social bookmarking” sites to associate certain blogs with specific tags. Nothing’s mysterious about it. Tags are merely keywords. It enables the surfer to search these social bookmarking sites and possibly lift your site in the search results. That eventually leads to traffic!
Now understand that social bookmarking sites are hugely popular and very highly ranked by the search engines. Getting your site tagged on, say, De.licio.us will get you a very powerful backlink, which the search engines will undoubtedly take notice of. That’s a vote of confidence for you!
Sean Wu wrote the famous “Tag and Ping” and was first to bring the tag and ping methodology to the SEO market. Use that book as a guide, then tag your blogs to as many social bookmarking sites as you can. One powerful Tagging tool I love is BookMarkingDemon. The user-friendly software registers a surge of accounts with social bookmarking sites and then automatically tags your sites to these accounts! Don’t even bother reading the manual. A quick glance over the controls kicks your intuition into overdrive. It’s easy to use!
The alternative is TagToRank Suitez. TagToRank Suitez bristles with features that blasts your sites under various tags to the social bookmark sites. You’ll love the powerful plugins that assist you in the mass creation of usernames with social bookmark sites. By the way- cycle your IP as you create accounts or they may be dropped by the social sites.
Want superior automation? Look no further than Auto Social Poster This monster tool is a plug-in for WordPress blogs that automatically tags your post to all of the social bookmark websites, making your blog very visible to search engines! That means that after you publish your post, it’s automatically tagged into at least 20 popular web 2.0 sites!
Anyone else use the same methods I do?
