Over the weekend I’ve been getting a series of emails from Pay Per Play giving the latest on their progress with turning on their new ad system, which went live on Friday. Pay Per Play ads are short 5 second audio ads that will are played only once per visitor, where publishers are paid each time an ad is played.
I’m quite excited about the potential for Pay Per Play ads. Not only will they not compete with other ad schemes, potentially getting paid per visitor rather than per click could be quite lucrative. For instance this site gets around 250k unique visitors per month. Even if the payment is only $0.01/visitor then that would generate a monthly $2.5k cheque. Hopefully the payout per visitor will be more than that.
