Early Days But Pay Per Play Ads Payout Is $4CPM

Pay Per Play

Pay Per Play is a new advertising method that has started trials this week before full rollout. The service works by playing 5 second ads to site visitors with a maximum of one ad played per visitor, and with a payout per play not per click.

Yesterday Pay Per Play ran the first test campaigns and despite the low absolute numbers, I think the results are promising. Although I only made a few dollars because only a few test ads were served, the CPM still worked out to around to $4CPM. I think this is great news because even if Pay Per Play only manage a 50% fill rate, I could still make an estimated $1,000 a month from my traffic.

I know it’s early days, but I think that’s a good increase and valuable incremental income. If you haven’t signed up yet for PayPer Play then click here to learn more.

    I think four dollars CPM, is not that great. The reason is for other types of advertising you will get cost per click.But here this is not the case.You only have to rely on CPM

    @nithin

    I disagree. I think $4CPM payout is good, especially when it is incremental income.

    Well one of the main questions is how many of your visitors will be annoyed by this ad. Visitors are not used to these kind of ads and could really get annoyed by them. I for one would not like such audio ads on a site that I visit regularly.

    Still $4 ECPM is indeed nice if you consider that no ppm advertiser can meet that currently.

    I will still not use it on my website ;)
