Top Ten Valentines Ringtones

Remember Singtones? Well, they’ve pulled together a list of the top ten Valentine’s Day love songs using download data from the busiest week of Singtones’ year, as people across the UK record themselves singing love songs and send them to their lover’s mobile phone as a unique Valentine’s Day message.

I’m quite surprised that the number one Valentine’s Day song is Barry White’s version of ‘Just The Way You Are’, as that’s a real classic. I was expecting something a bit more modern. At number 2 is Andy Williams’ ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’…I have to admit I don’t even know how that one goes!

The charts are contain a good mix of modern songs and classics, with The Bangle’s 1991 smash ‘Eternal Flame’ the highest placed modern song (recorded after 1980). Here’s the full Top Ten Valentine’s Day songs:

  1. “Just The Way You Are” / Barry White / 1978
  2. “Your Song” / Elton John / 1970
  3. “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” / Andy Williams / 1967
  4. “Eternal Flame” / Bangles / 1991
  5. “Hello” / Lionel Richie / 1984
  6. “Ain’t No Sunshine” / Bill Withers / 1971
  7. “Bleeding Love” / Leona Lewis / 2007
  8. “My Boo” / Usher and Alicia Keys / 2004
  9. “Stand By Me” / Ben E. King / 1961
  10. “Close To You” / Carpenters / 1970

Yeah, I’m surprised there’s no modern songs as well. Virgin Mobile did a survey as well, and they were almost all modern ringtons on that one.
