Blog Housekeeping: Wanted! A Expert WordPress/Server Optimiser
I’ve recently been considering going shopping for a new dedicated server. I moved my sites to a dedicated server one year ago which solved my performance issues. However, over the last year or so the site has slowed down noticeably so I’ve decided it’s time to make some changes.
Rather than buying a more powerful server (plus, PowerVPS made me a very good offer to stay with them) I’ve decided to invest in getting a WordPress Hosting expert in to do some fine-tuning and to clear out all my cluter, which has worked very well for me in the past. what I intend to do this time is also get the chosen provider to document all their changes so that I can share them with my readers.

Hey everton, sorry, been away for a bit this month.. super busy with projects
I’m not going to bid, as I’m not hardcore back end guy, but, let me know when you want to optimize the front end page load time… I’ll hook you up

@Kline
- Ready to start your case study? I’ve upgraded your access to admin. Let me know if you need FTP access as well.

Interesting proposal. I’ll be following the progress to see what sort of tweaks or changes were done. I bet money that WP-Cache or Super Cache will be installed

@Jeffro2pt0 is right…
You need to use a Cache to get the load off the Databases… What kind of HDD (RPM) does the server run and also keep an eye on CPU level…

The problem with hosting is it still a shared environment. You really should look into getting a manged server. It will streamline and keep others from bogging down your own site. I know that Server Intellect has a very good Manged servers and support. Dedicated will keep your loads down and allow you to expand when need without causing major headaches.
