Get To Know Your Site With CrawlScore

CrawlScore

Who are Crawlscore? It’s a new service that crawls and diagnoses any crawling related issues with your website. This may not sound very exciting, but ensuring that Google and other search engines are crawling sites properly is important for all bloggers and webmasters. Altough Google Webmaster Tools makes some of this information available to webmasters, CrawlScore takes it to a different level.

CrawlScore provided me with a test account to write this sponsored review.  Setting up the service is very easy as there is no software to install.  All you have to do once you have signed up is enter your website address, estimate how many pages your site has and decide how often you want your site crawled and CrawlScore will then analysis your site. CrawlScore will also create a sitemap to help ensure that search engines pick up on your pages.

CrawlScore Options

Once I’d added my site CrawlScore then set about crawling my site. Because of the huge number of posts and comments, CrawlScore said that the crawl would take three hours to complete.  Three hours later CrawlScore had compiled a tonne of data on my site.

From a blogger’s perspective, I think the amount of data that CrawlScore is one of the failings of the service.  Take for instance this site which has 2,279 posts, 12,600 comments, contained within 29 categories and 1,385 tags.  All of that content creates a lot of urls and any crawl of this site somehow has to make sense of all these pages.

Thanks for the review. It sounds as if I really don’t need this product.

I am new to blogging and use the blog from GoDaddy. I’m not really sure if that comes optimized or not. Not really sure how to find out either.

In any case thanks for the information.
