2000 Links Added To The Connected Internet Directory
I started the free Connected Internet Directory on a whim about 12 months ago to try and generate more reciprocal links, although I stopped selling links and requiring reciprocal links once Google got mean a few months ago.
Changing these requirements seems to have paid off as last week, the 2,000 link was added to the free Connected Internet Directory. The directory is also generating a decent amount of Adsense revenue for me, around $300 a month, which I think is fantastic for something that only took me an hour to setup and only requires me to log on once a day to approve/deny new links.
I’d highly recommend looking into setting up a directory for any domain. It’s very quick and easy to do, and can prove very lucrative. I’m going to give my directory a bit of TLC once the Eureka theme is finished, to make it look the same as the main site. I’ll also be doing this with the Forum, which is barely working at the moment. I’m currently working with a new designer to rebuild the Eureka theme as this version is messy and hard to work with. It’s taking a long time, as my designer is ill at the moment, but you can see a sneak preview here.

I didn’t knew you have this directory. I will try to submit my site.
I think it’s a good idea to have a web directory but it is hard now to get many visitors and good SERP because there are many directories now.

Great idea.
I’m going to give this a try. Only problem is I’m not completely sure where to advertise the directory.
You’ve already got an established blog which is why you got links so quick so I feel that if I try I won’t get anywhere fast.

@Zath & mark
I paid $25 for a PHP Link Directory licence. I then choose one of the many free templates and that was it, and paid $10 I think for a directory structure - that’s it! Took me about an hour to make a few small tweaks to the template.
@Shashank
the last designer left me with a messy theme and wouldn’t do anymore work. I recruited another guy to finish it off, and he took one look and decided it was easier to rebuild from scratch. He got off to a flying start but he’s been ill the last couple of weeks

So you will be changing the site’s look again..
what happened to the previous designer.

That’s great, anything that generates income without any effort is nice.
