Eventually, I came up with a rule for myself - if I start to feel that way, keep going and re-assess in 30 days. If it's still that way, give it one more month. At that time, take a break or give it up unless there's a very compelling reason not to. It makes sure that I don't give up too soon, but also that I don't give up too much time on things that I don't truly enjoy or find success at. I’ve definitely been there before. I've had doubts about my site over the months since I started it back in March 2007, but things are hopefully going in the right direction now. I'd have to say, most important thing is to stick with it, whether you have to slow down your posting frequency, so be it, whatever you do don't take it down if you get disheartened.
