From The Forum: What’s Your Method Of Building Backlinks

I relaunched the Connected Internet Forum at the weekend, and some good discussions on blogging, SEO and making money online have already started.

Mark has just started a good thread ‘What’s your method of building backlinks‘ where he’s shared a very useful tip:

Considering the significance of Backlinks in getting a higher page rank in organic ranking everyone is doing it. If you have a blog or a website and if you are wondering why you are not able to get the traffic back to your website well think again;

Easy way to find backlink count:

  • in Yahoo search query write: linkdomain:yourdomainurl

Now this can also be used for some advance analysis. You can also see where your competitors are getting the backlinks from or how many so you could see what you have to do to cross them.

About backlinks let me also share this its just not the sheer number of backlinks that count. The Quality of backlinks is also a big decisive factor in determination of your page rank.

    This is an area that I think I definitely need to do some work on and have got a few ideas for promotions to try and get some, but will check out the forum post now and see what’s being discussed!

    Commenting on blogs is, of course, one of the surest ways to build backlinks but there is another fun way to pick up links:  commenting on articles and opinion pieces at  college online newspapers.  Start with your alma mater and then expand.   Do a search for “syndicated college news” or “college newspapers online”.  I enjoy it because I can express my opinion freely on controversial subjects.  I also like keeping tabs on what’s going on at my favorite colleges.

    I am bit new into the field of blogging and website so am not sure how to get backlinks except from writing articles and commenting. if there are any other good techniques do let me know and btw the forum is not working i tried it a couple of times error 404.

    For me these are the things i do for building backlinks not in the same order though
    1)social bookmarking
    2) blog commenting (however i use this only on blogs and post i like i am not avid blog commenter who just goes on and on commenting )
    3)Directory submission
    4)article submission
    there are a few others but these are some of the main ones i use
