Windows 7 News Breaks 2K Uniques Per Day

View Comments May 28, 2008 | Everton

The Windows 7 News site that I share with Martin from gHacks is going from strength to strength. Yesterday it broke 2k unique visitors for the day. It had passed this milestone before, but only when we made it onto Digg for a few days.

Even more impressive is the pages viewed per visitor, standing at nearly 4 page views each. Hopefully this initial success will continue as the buzz around Windows 7 increases over the coming months.

If you haven’t checked out the site yet, then head on over now!

Update 1: Traffic today has nearly hit this level already and is currently ahead of Connected Internet – wow!

Update 2: uniques yesterday hit 6.5k with 23k page views! I hope it continues.

  • Congratulations. Nearly 4 page views per visitor is a great result. So your content most be really good. I just check it out and you really have great content on it. I also viewed more than 4 pages on my visit :-)

  • Impressive numbers indeed. It just shows how much interest the impeding arrival of a "new" operating system from Microsoft generates. Vista is an abject failure, and it is obvious that people are really interested in a suitable replacement.
  • That is incredible. The fact that you are obviously getting targetted visitors too is an added bonus.

I managed to get popular on digg for a few days. It brought me 17,000 uniques but they were not people who were too interested in my site. They came, looked at the pictures, then left.

Very well done. Hats off to you.

  • That's impressive numbers for a young site. Will go and check it out.

  • We've broken through 2k today already and it's only 12pm GMT so America hasn't logged in yet......

The site is currently running Forbes banners which are hitting eCPM of $6 each which is very good, but in the future we are hoping it will be attractive to anyone who wants to advertise Windows 7 software and hardware, i.e a lot of potential advertisers!
  • Wow, that is impressive.  I always kick myself when I read about these niche news sites.  I always say, why didn't I think of that!!

Do you think that a Windows 7 site will be able to be monetized?  If so, how do you plan to monetize it?
