I’m not sure, it depends how cool you are. If you’re an A-list blogger I agree 100%, but if you’re an unknown I don’t want to look like a numptie by agreeing with you. I wish I had a mind of my own… do you think I ever will, or do I have one already? Please, I really need to know!

Jen: Thank you for your feedback. I actually used the terms so that everybody could understand it. That’s actually why I mentioned WoW too, instead of Everquest. Everybody knows WoW ;)

Interesting article, but the title is a little misleading. Yes, I’m nitpicking, but the terms you used are from Everquest (I assume), not WoW. It’s weird being a WoW player and reading about wizards and fighters… (I think the equivalent would be casters and melee)

I think your analysis of comparing blogging to any sort of game or gaming in general is a good one. In comparison, you might find this article I wrote on Performancing going down the same path http://performancing.com/do-you-know-the-rules-of-the-game Page Rank, Technorati, and links all acting as new levels, experience points, and becoming the best as at we do. Practically anything and everything in life can be compared to a game. Hell, many people even view life as a game itself.

You make some good comparisons – but then WoW and blogging are both social activities and for all social activities you get some more influential than others, it takes time to get there and yes you can make money out if it, so perhaps what I’d like to see more is the differences – apart from the trying to kill people bit :)

So I’ll ask you a related question – what can blogging learn from WoW or vice-versa?
