Compare Mobile Broadband Deals With Broadband Expert

The growth in interest in Mobile Broadband in the UK this year has been amazing to see. More and more ordinary customers want to get fast internet speeds when they are on the move with their laptops, and sales of Mobile Broadband dongles are rocketing in the UK.
What is mobile broadband? Well just a like connecting to the internet with a mobile phone, mobile broadband uses a SIM card to connect, except the SIM card is embedded in a USB modem, or ‘dongle’, that is plugged into your laptop or PC and allows you to connect to the internet on the move via a 3G network. Having a fast 3G connection on your laptop with speeds available of up to 7.2Mb, can offer advantages over finding a WiFi hotspot, as virtually full national coverage is available, whereas finding a hotspot to connect to in the UK still isn’t easy. With a dongle you can also have an always on connection, allowing true roaming, which isn’t possible with wifi. This is great if you travel regularly or , just fancy working outsides or on the move.
Mobile broadband services are now available from all of the UK’s mobile networks, and rather than making it easy for customers to choose which package is best for them, they’ve adopted their usual tactic of making it almost impossible for customers to compare packages between providers. Luckily there are a number of sites popping up to help customers like Broadband Expert, who have purchased this review, who can help consumers find the best mobile broadband deal that matches their particular needs.
Broadband expert is one of the best laid out comparison sites I’ve seen. Users are immediately presented with clear ways to sort the various options available such as by provider, by download limit, monthly price, setup fee, minimum contract, rating and estimated year 1 cost. The offers available are also grouped into personal, business and Pay As You Go offers.
Pay As You Go packages are the ones that I’ve been paying the most attention to. At the moment they are still a bit too pricey for me at around £100 for the dongle. What I’ve been doing instead is paying an extra £5/mth to T-Mobile whenever I need to use my Nokia N95 as a modem with my laptop. Maybe one of the networks will give me a card to try out
For some of the offers available there are reviews available. If there isn’t a review, then thee are still very helpful summary pages for each offer showing how the service has been rated by users for customer service, value for money, speed and connection. There is also help available to help users find the right package based on their expected type of usage e.g. light user, internet gaming, web surfing etc.
Broadband Expert also offers many other features in addition to the mobile broadband comparison service, such as a usage calculator, a speed testand a broadband comparision service. Overall it’s a well laid out site, which I’m sure is already a success.
