How To Tame The Annoying Vista UAC

Users of Windows Vista go nuts when the screen goes dark during the appearance of the User Account Control window . I personally find it vexing. M$ calls it the “Secure Desktop”, but it can drive you insane after the upteenth instance. Here’s how to tame it.
(Note that this will make your system less secure before proceeding.)
First you have to access the configuration screen for UAC. Type in security to the start menu search box. You should see the Local Security Policy as the top search item.
From here, things get messy.
Access the Local Security Policy window, browse down to Local Policies \ Security Options
Check out the right hand part of the window, jump down to the bottom and locate the entry titled “User Account Control: Switch to the secure desktop when prompting for elevation“.
Double-click the entry, then change it to disabled:
Hurrah hurrah! Never again will you be cursed by that Secure Desktop.
Have fun folks!

Thanks for the tip, this annoys the hell out of me with vista !
I don’t mind this feature as I am always aware of what’s going on. Thanks for the tip anyway.
