How To Get In Touch With Google
Everton | Sep 22, 2008 | Comments
I’ve had to contact Google twice recently regarding two of my sites. One of my sites had it’s Page Rank reduced for selling links, so I contacted Google via the Webmaster Tools to ask them to reconsider my site once I’d removed all the paid links.
The second time I contacted Google was far more serious. Back in August my site got hacked and the hacker was redirecting all traffic to a very dodgy site. Google noticed this and removed ALL my search engine listings, so all the traffic I’d built up over 3 years disappeared overnight! Very, very scary as I now rely on the income this site produces, rather than it just being extra spending money.
In both instances Google responded to my requests within 12 hours, and changed my rankings. I just wanted to share this experience with you as it proves that Google does indeed respond to Webmaster requests, so if your site ever does undergo a major change it’s worth dropping a line to Google to let them know.
