Going on a fast lap around a track is an unbelievable experience. I was lucky enough to be taken on a few fast laps around Goodwood in an Aston Martin last year by Derek Bell, who not only used to drive for McLaren and Ferrari, also managed to win Le Mans 5 times. What i find amazing about drivers with this level of ability is how easy they make it look – Derek even took a call on his mobile during the second lap. His driving style was unbelievably smooth, which I’m sure he honed driving for hours on end at Le Mans.
That’s why i love this video of former F1 driver Riccardo Patrese taking his (sexy) wife for a spin around a track in a plain old Honda Civic Type-R. I love the look of fear on her face, particularly as she must know that he would never put her life at risk.
