I think what you really need is a dedicated machine. The specs of your current machine look quite nice though I’m guessing they are shared between other users on the machine.

Also, you really should be updating the OS CentOS 4 is quite old.

Are you asking if I have enough traffic ot cover the cost? Yes, which is one of the reasons I want to switch as I’m convinced I’m losing enough traffic each month to pay for the switch.

Can you ask support to check and see what files are actually causing the load? You can see the same under WHM as well to get an idea of the same.

I don’t think you will get a good Dedicated for below 250 bucks

The specs are not bad at all. I was just looking at the specs of the dedicated server that Ghacks is running on: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Dual Core 4 GB DDR2 2 x 400 GB SATA II (Software RAID 1) Maybe the problem is not caused by the server's hardware but by other factors, e.g. configuration, software installed and running, provider's backbone. If you got root access you could run a few basic commands like "top" or "netstat" to find out more about the resource usage. I personally would not say that a dedicated server running the three sites would need more than 4 GB of RAM. More is better of course but 4 Gigabytes should be sufficient. I would definitely take a look at the cpu and get a modern Intel or AMD cpu instead if you change servers.
