SocialBrowse is StumbleUpon on Steroids

One of the most popular methods of finding random websites, is StumbleUpon. You simply install a small toolbar that adds on to Firefox or IE, and you simply click ‘Stumble’ to find your next great website. The service is so popular, that Ebay decided to acquire them in 2007 for $75 Million. We are still awaiting what exactly are going to do with the service, but they do own the property now.

Well, I’m not here to talk about Stumble, but I am here to talk about a similar but much more interactive product called SocialBrowse. SocialBrowse really looks like a combination of StumbleUpon and Digg upon first glance. However, it’s really something completely different. With a small Firefox Add-on, you browse the web and share whatever links you find interesting. You then comment and share your perspective for the next ’socialbrowser’ to discover.

As you can see above, SocialBrowse has a much interactive and feature rich browsing aspect, as compared to StumbleUpon. You have your continuously running social friend feed on the left, and then links that have been reviewed are displayed with a SocialBrowse symbol in your browser window.

I think it’s still in it’s infancy, and on its way up. Check it out, before it gets hot: SocialBrowse.com
