How Useful Is Wind Recognization Technology

Apple’s Accelerometer technology stunned many geeks when it debuted inpantech-im-s410 the iPhone. The technology brought to the consumer products reminiscent of the Minority Report.  Swish here, swish there and icons instantly zip across a virtual desktop. That’s uber cool if you ask me. Now the digital world is as intuitive as the real world.  Thick operating manuals no longer needed.

Now I’m betting that accelerometer technology is heavily protected so what’s a competitor to do? Why do something similar of course- with a twist.

Pantech, a mobile phone company, devised cutting-edge technology that does almost the same thing, except that it uses  breath instead of touch.

Breath? Got that right. With the IM-S41, Pantech embeds wind recognition technology that evaluate the amount of “wind” coursing through its microphone and analyzing the sensitivity as well as wind dynamics which can be translated for use in  applications including games, Photo Gallery and video apps.  Pantech scientists are now racking their brains to come up with practical uses for the technology.

Hmmm.. aside ffrom blowing virtual flowers and kisses, I don’t think this tech will fly. What say you?

It all depends on the type of technology that is available and as things stand now, anything that is developed will be obsolete within six months time http://www.jgtaxgroup.com/back-taxes-help-co.html
  • I don't think that this type of technology will be of great use to the general public in their mobiles, perhaps scientists could utilise it but other than that it sounds just a novelty right now.
  • Seems a bit of an odd piece of technology. You can do a similar thing on the DS on Nintendogs!
