Help: Looking For A Better Image Gallery Plugin

I’m looking for an image gallery plugin that will display images in a similar way to engadget, which the image carousel is part of the page and not contained within a lightbox popup.:

gallery

I also like the way that engadget has a page that shows all available galleries:

gallery-home

Any ideas how I can do this?  Thanks in advance.

Some of the plugins in the  link top the galleries is the best when it comes to images. I manage about 6 blogs with daily updates, and it saves me a lot of boring work. Thanks

Migrate to Joomla! Much better looking website than a WP site, and display options are limitless.

Unfortunately, it is a painful transition for a site with as much content as Connected, otherwise I would volunteer my time to do it.
