Speedup WordPress With PHP Speedy Plugin

My other site Windows 7 News is getting even more traffic than usual thanks to a couple of links from a big Asian site, so I’ve been looking for ways to speedup my WordPress pages. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been working through a few WordPress optimisation posts like this one, looking for optimisation tips.

One tip that definitely seems to have worked is installing the PHP Speedy WordPress Plugin. PHP Speedy combines all JS and CSS files into only two files, which can dramatically reduce loading times. Other tweaks are done to CSS files to further improve loading times.

Installing the plugin was easy and after performing a few tests the PHP Speedy Plugin was live.  I particularly liked the way the plugin did tests to see if everything was ok before activating itself.
