Google is planning to launch the next edition of Android version 1.5 which promises better performance when it comes to Camera quality and GPS navigation. In addition to that it will have support for video recording and Bluetooth stereo.
The major improvements include the ability to allow faster camera start up, image capture and faster acquisition of GPS location. Faster page scrolling in the browser and speedier Gmail conversation list scrolling will be a great add-on for the users as well.
Looking at the new features Android 1.5 will offer On-screen soft keyboard which
- Works in both portrait and landscape orientation
- Support for user installation of 3rd party keyboards
- User dictionary for custom words
The new Android 1.5 will not only find improvements to install Android SDK add-ons to access extended functionality that might be provided by OEMs, carriers, or other providers but will also have the option to target different Android platform version from within a single SDK installation.
Google has also started publishing a series of articles on their Android Blog to highlight their new APS. This includes topics such as OpenGL, asynchronous tasks, system settings, and new Activity callbacks.
