Google Analytics Widget for your Desktop

Google Analytics provides an excellent way to learn which online marketing initiatives are cost effective and see how visitors actually interact with your site. I’ve been using this service from the moment I first launched my blog in January 2008. Bloggers who are already familiar with this service should have a good idea how important it is to install Google Analytics on their site.

I have just discovered Polaris, a widget for Google Analytics that lets you view your site stats right from your desktop . The company claims that Polaris is one of the first Adobe AIR applications to be built using the recently released Google Analytics API and integrates beautifully with Windows, Linux and Mac systems. To see your stats on Polaris you will need to login to your Analytis account.

Polaris offers features such as charts, graphs and animation. Perhaps not exactly like the original Analytics report but it lets you check your visitor numbers, traffic sources, keywords, referring sites and more. Polaris free edition may not suit those who own more than 2-3 sites because it only lets you view one profile at time. On the other hand bloggers who want to check all profiles on Polaris can pay $15 per year and buy the multi-access profile edition.
