Protect your Twitter Account from KoobFace Virus Attack

koobface Protect your Twitter Account from KoobFace Virus AttackKoobface is quiet popular among all the social network sites including Facebook, MySpace and more. It is a virus that has infected many social media networks. It’s main purpose is to target users and gather sensitive information from the victims such as credit card numbers.

At first Koobface spread the virus by delivering Facebook messages to people that are ‘friends’ of someone on Facebook whose computer has already been infected. The messages contain innocuous subject headers such as “Paris Hilton Tosses Dwarf On The Street”, “LOL”, and “My friend catched you on hidden cam”.

It has come to my attention that Koobface has started targeting Twitter users. It spreads through the links which pretty much looks like Youtube Video Urls. As soon as a user clicks on that url, Koobface activates and whenever this person logs on Twitter again, Koobface automatically comes out from its link and starts scrabling.

So try not clicking on suspicious links and save your private information from getting stolen. Just so you know the Urls displayed on Twitter looks like this.

As of now Twitter is suspending some of the user’s accounts temporarily which are involved in spreading Koobface virus. With the help of Trend Micro Twitter is also expecting to come up with a solution to fix this soon.
