I’m not a big fan when it comes to trying out different AntiVirus programs even though I mostly get free license from the companies when I review their product. Normally I simply use the web based AntiVirus applications online once in a while to keep my system alive. Recently I have discovered a great website that lets me scan my PC using 24 different AntiVirus engines.
Novirusthanks is website dedicated to computer security. I choose to review this particular service over the others is because this would be the first time many of us wouldn’t have to install anything to scan PC for viruses or other malicious programs.
Those aren’t the only reasons to review it though, another big reason I’m hyped is because when you scan a potentially infected file, you scan using 24 AntiVirus Engines. That’s right, you would never install 24 Antivirus software on you PC to protect your system now would you?
Another major reason why I like NoVirusThanks.org’s Virus scanner is that you can also enter web URL’s. That means any site that you’re suspicious of containing harmful scripts and malware/virus/rootkits etc can be scanned within a minute..
The process is also quiet simple. On the main page simply choose what you’d like to scan and in the relative box give the path to where the suspicious file or activity may be so if its a file click on the browse button and select the infected file so that it can uploaded then click submit and if is a Website just type in the URL in the appropriate box and hit `submit address’.
Remember though that a report could take up to 40 seconds for the scanner to generate and that if you’re uploading a file make sure it isn’t more than 20MB because that’s the maximum allowed limit. Also do make sure that JavaScript is enabled and be sure to be a little patient as some of the functions are really process intensive and you may feel a slight lag on your browser/system.
