If you are a regular user of Facebook and like to interact with your friends and family members through Facebook chat then Gabtastik is what you need.
Gabtastik is a site specific browser that acts like a desktop client for Webchat. What that means is that if you use web based chat applications like Facebook Chat and Google talk you no longer need to burden your browser with having to host it.
Gabtastik will allow you to keep your chat sessions out of your regular webs browser and will use a minimum when it comes to screen area and system resources. This means if your chat session crashes for some reason it no longer will take down the rest of your browser with it. Just go back to the facebook login page if you want to use other facebook features.
With Gabtastik you also will the get the option to set the window display level as well as other settings such as window opacity. The simple and intuitive display means that you can rapidly toggle between supported chat services without missing a beat.
Gabtastik lets you keep chat sessions open on your Windows desktop outside of your regular web browser, using minimal screen real estate and system memory. The small memory imprint also means that you wont have that bulky feel you get when normally using a web based chat service via your browser, the response of the application is quiet impressive.

The software is currently in its first release and bugs are bound to be found, thankfully though even with its 0.21 version tag the app tends to be stable.
The software currently supports Windows XP (with .NET 2.0), Windows Vista and OSX , it also requires that you have the flash player installed and that you have your chat accounts ready. (the OSX version also supports Meebo and Hahlo.com at the time of writing)
