The newly revealed Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), an anti-malware software is quite user friendly and is pretty easy to install for all Windows users. But this free software will only be available to those who are using the legitimate copy of Windows and not a pirated one.
MSE or Microsoft Security Essentials, which was launched on Tuesday is only available for the users who are using the original copy of the Windows. According to the sources, this unique anti-malware software is available in 8 languages across 19 countries. It requires no registration and is quite easy to install.
But a blog posted by Alex Kochis, the director of Microsoft’s Genuine Windows Team suggested that the aforementioned security software will not support any pirated version of Windows. Moreover, if a person who is using a pirated version of Windows tries to run the software in his PC, MSE won’t run but instead would ask the user to buy a genuine copy of Windows online.
The move made by the software giant has been speculated by many as a large number of people think that this decision is actually a part of the “anti-piracy” effort that has been picked up by the company due to the growth of users who are operating their PC with the pirated versions of Windows.
On the other hand, Microsoft has announced that the introduction of MSE has been implemented in order to support those who cannot afford to buy a Security software due to its seemingly high price. “Consumers have told us that they want the protection of real time security software but we know that too many are unwilling or unable to pay for it, ” said Amy Barzdukas, the GM of consumer security at Microsoft.
Now it is up to the users, especially those who are using the pirated copies of Windows to decide whether they are going to take up this enticing offer or not.
