Manage Applications via tabs from your Desktop

iWonder Designs can be credited with a number of good releases. Today we’ll be reviewing their program called Stick. The small and efficient freeware lets you manage your applications via tabs neatly placed on your desktop.

The current stable version hosted on the website is 2.8.0.82. Being only 4.3 MB large, the setup file downloads quickly and installation is a very easy step which follows.

Here’s how the program’s main window looks while running:

tabmanager

As visible, the left list shows the tabs which have been enabled, and by highlighting one, the user can adjust various properties to the right. The adjustable properties are mostly related to visuals e.g. transparency.

The tabs placed on the desktop can be a very convenient way to access the items most used; the calculator, for instance, is sometimes needed urgently or more than once, and it can become very annoying to open, close, open, close again and again.

The note taking tab is another example of how Stick can make the computer using experience easier.

The tabs can be docked on whichever side of the screen the user wants: top, bottom, left, or right. All one has to do is click on the tabs top, and drag it to the desired location.

I docked the tabs on different sides of my desktop and here’s what it looked like:

If the tabs business gets to be gotten rid of, a tab can be removed by clicking the ‘Delete Tab’ button. One can also do away with all the tabs in one go by SHIFT-selecting them and then clicking the ‘Delete Tab’ button.

Overall, this little freeware can make its user’s life a lot easier by placing what is needed most within reach, all the time.
