Twitter, Microsoft and Google are reportedly having serious discussions regarding the two search giants (Google and Microsoft) inculcating live feed of twitter in their search engines (Google and Bing). Twitter is a hugely popular and ever growing “microblogging” service which according some experts has the potential of giving search behemoths like Google a run for its money eventually in the future.
If this comes true then it could be a win-win deal for all the concerned entities. For Twitter, this could mean earning dollars for its “tweets” and for the search giants, Google and Microsoft, this could mean leveraging the growing popularity and craze for Twitter and augmenting their present search engines even more.
This would also expand Twitter’s reach to the millions of web browsers who use the Google search and Microsoft’s Bing. Moreover analysts across the technology world have been wandering how would Twitter earn money from the services it offers? Well the answer seems to be here finally! This “monetization” of its tweets would yield good revenue for the microblogging giant. Twitter has even given respected news organizations tough competition as far as breaking important and significant news is concerned. Events like terrorist attacks, war, blasts, natural calamities etc have always found their presence in the “real time” tweets. This phenomenon has also increased its importance significantly and has explained in front of the world tech-community what power this service could yield in the future.
What would be interesting to watch is how the two giants, Google and Microsoft compete against each other once they both inculcate the Twitter feeds across their search engines.
