MySpace Login Page

If you haven’t heard of MySpace before, then either don’t have a PC or don’t use the internet.  Although MySpace has been taken over in popularity by Facebook, it is still one of the most popular social networking websites.  MySpace users can can create their own pages or space, and then connect with new and old friends and share content.

Because millions of users login to MySpace everyday, MySpace is the target of several scams and phishing attempts which try to trick MySpace users into giving over sensitive and confidential information like passwords and account details.  So how can you stay safe on MySpace?

Use The MySpace Login Page

If you receive an email that claims to be from MySpace or see a link to MySpace from a webpage,  but you’re not sure if it’s safe then to login to MySpace securely you should go directly to the MySpace Login Page:

MySpace Login Page

On the MySpace login page you will be asked for your email address and password.  If you can’t remember your Myspace password then click on the ‘Forgot your password‘ Myspace link.

If your MySpace ID is stolen or you are still not confident that an email claiming to be from MySpace is genuine and not a phishing attempt then go to MySpace Help and expand the ‘Contact MySpace’ box on the right and send the MySpace Support team an email.

One way to stop the amount of MySpace Spam you receive is to change your MySpace communication preferences:

  1. Click My Account (in the upper right corner)
  2. Click Spam (from the center nav bar)
  3. Check the boxes under Communications Settings to require folks to add their real names, Email addresses or CAPTCHAs before they send you mail (btw, a CAPTCHA is the weird string of letters and numbers that tells us you’re a person and not a robot)
  4. Uncheck boxes if you DON’T want to receive invitations from groups or get IM messages from folks who aren’t on your friend list
  5. Click Save All Changes
