Create Music And Mix Awesome Beats Online

There’s a rock star wannabe within all of us. We’ve all rocked out to our favorite tunes. But only a small minority of us can actually get up and create good music. If you’re in the majority, like myself, then your rock star dream is going to come true at a minor, but significant level.

Say hello to Soundation. Soundation is a free web service that lets you mix up awesome beats and create truly original music.

First important thing to mention is: all you need is an internet browser and some speakers/headphones. There’s no registration required, no files to install, not anything! All you do is click on the link and be taken to the Soundation player that runs from within your internet browser.

From the screenshot of Soundation pasted above you can see how it’s laid out. To the left you can see the modifiable audio channels and to the top, the menu bar. When you’ve selected a new song from File in the Main Menu, head over to the right where the beats are. Soundation is currently in its beta stage and it already contains over 400 royalty free audio loops. You can choose the sound and drag it into the plane in the middle. You can overlap your audio clips, repeat them, match their tempo to your overall song, or tweak with the audio channels.

Once you’re done making your beat/song/tune you can either choose to save it as a WAV file on your PC or you can have Soundation publish it on the web as a MP3 and give you the link.

Soundation is a truly amazing web service that lets musical amateurs and professionals alike have a lot of fun.

I tried this out myself, It's pretty cool. I got talking to one of the developers also and asked him about features that would be available in the future.
He said that they are looking to integrate VST plugins, include an audio channel for mic input, create folders so that you can upload your own audio files (I think that's done now)
Plus others. Im looking forward to seeing how this baby progresses.
Do you know of any other sites that are similar to this? I know of indaba, clubcreate and hobnox but I'm wondering if there are others.
