World’s First Dual Display Netbook

Since netbooks became the vogue, i ditched my primary laptop. Only the netbook goes into my brief case- koj Worlds First Dual Display Netbookafter all, you can’t beat the weight of these babies. What’s more, with the Atom n280, these minuscule workstation pack enough grunt to process even complex excel sheets. And don’t get me started on the upcoming dual core atoms. Seems Intel is out to cannibalize their existing core2duo line!

There’s only one hitch with the netbook. Eyestrain. I’m sure you know how vexing it can be. A big complaint against the the netbook is the undersized low-resolution LCD they come equipped with. Type for two hours and before long, the words of that tax return start swimming across your eyes like hieroglyphics. That’s about to change however, because at a recent demo at CEATEC Japan, Kohjinsha Corp unveiled a prototype dual screen netbook. The cool thing about it is- it actually looks terribly stunning!

When folded up, the Kohjinsha netbook resembles the standard Asus EEEPC. It refuses to look paunchy! But get it to work and smooth sliding mechanism folds out the displays side by side! Now you won’t have to squint anymore!

The prototype sports an AMD Athlon NeoMV-40 CPU running at 1.6Ghz, 4GB of RAM, and Microsoft Windows 7. With such memory configuration, the processor is probably 64bit and that means snappy performance for you CAD/CAM users out there.

I’m just worried about how much juice the display will use. Maybe runtime will hit two hours tops? The manufacturers should make something like Asus’ SuperHybridEngine for this babe.

Prices are not yet fixed, but the boys pushing it say it could cost $1100. Pricey if you ask me. That can buy you four regular netbooks from MSI. are you biting?
