Adobe Unleashes Photoshop For Android Based Smart Phones

photoshopforandroid-inactionAfter the successful launch of Motorola Droid and a lot of Android based smart phones following suit, various software companies have started releasing their applications customized for the Android OS. Recently Adobe Systems launched the Android version of their popular image editing application Photoshop. Using this application the Android users would be able to perform editing on the images captured by the phone and apply special effects on them as well.

This release comes on the heels of the debut of Adobe’s application targeted at iPod Touch and iPhone users. The application has become a runaway hit with the Apple product users in less than a month. The interface of the Photoshop application for Android resembles that of the iPhone version. However, compared to the PC version of Photoshop this application offers entry level image editing features. The Android version lacks some features seen in the iPhone version. The sketch effect used for lending a cartoon like impression to the images is also not present in the Android edition of Photoshop.

The Android users will like the fact that the auto uploader included in their software would enable them to share the images with others in a fast and effective one. This feature sends the images captured by an Android phone to the cloud storage of Photoshop.com directly. The Android marketplace is where this application can be found and downloaded. While this application can be fun to use, the absence of advanced photo editing features will disappoint the multimedia users.
