How To Gag The Profanity In Youtube

I was yelling my lungs off watching an exhilarating jeet kundo video. One Chinese martial arts practitioner really decked up this German pro boxer and left the poor fellow a quivering mass. All 20 minutes of it packed the same electricity as any Rocky movie. Whew. The popcorn scattered all over the table and my 8 year old nephew started scrolling downwards on the screen saying “Is there more? I liked that!”
Then he saw the comments:
“That chink was #^#(!@)$#”
“Hell yeah, rigged fight#()@#$@”
Generally there was enough profanity in there to shame even Eminem on a bad ratings day.
“Joe, what does #*@#($@ mean?” asked my innocent little nephew. Before I could answer, he ran off chanting the cuss words like it was a mantra. It didn’t help that the room next door was full of guests.
Have you been tiffed by the amount of profanity on Youtube? While a vast majority of this site glamorizes cute kittens and bloated puppies, there are red light alleys lurking here and there. Any responsible adult must keep the seedy side tucked away from the eyes of the youth- until the day they start cussing themselves.
Luckily there’s a fine Firefox plugin that does just that.
Dubbed the YouTube Comment Snob, the app filters undesirable comments from YouTube video pages. It may fail at foreign language cuss words (like merde or petarade or tae), but it does a great job. The tool blocks comments based on one or more criteria: all capital letters, no capital letters, excessive punctuation and/or capitalization, and so on. It also awakens when it detects a certain number of spelling mistakes. Most cussers tend to have low IQ after all.
Don’t wait till the kids mouth off like a rapper on crack. Install it today!
