Kaspersky Lab Launches Antivirus Software For Macs

Recently well known anti virus software maker Kaspersky Labs released a new security suite targeted at the Mac users. While the Mac OS has been spared from the hackers and viruses to a large extent compared to Microsoft Windows, the number of Mac specific viruses now border over hundreds. Hence, the Corporate mac users need extra protection from malware and the new Kaspersky Anti virus for Mac is an ideal solution for them.

According to Kaspersky Labs, this security suite will protect the Mac users from a variety of Trojans, viruses and spyware. The introduction of Snow Leopard and affordable Macs like the Mac Mini has increased the user base of Mac OS. At the same time, it has given the hackers a new segment to attack. Kaspersky also claims that the new Anti Virus meant for Macs does not hog system resources, thereby offering the users an uncompromising work flow. It has an unobtrusive automatic update facility that works at the background and does not need user intervention.

The Anti virus utilizes the dual and multi-core CPUs used by Mac systems and performs system scanning at high speed. Its interface gels well with the sleek Snow Leopard OS seamlessly. It is also backward compatible with slightly older Macs that use the Mac OS v.10.4.11.
