PingTest: Check The Quality Of Your Internet Connection

If you are suffering from poor browsing speeds, most people assume that their broadband speed is too low and do a broadband speed test.  However, the problem could also because your connection is poor quality and you need to do a ping test.  this tests how well your connection deals with packets and whether packets are getting lost while you are browsing.

Pingtest is a website that automatically chooses a server near to where you are located to run connection tests.  test
At the end of the tests your broadband connection is graded:

pingtest

Tests include:

  • Packet Loss percentage test: ‘Packets’ are pieces of information which are transferred from the server to your system. If the packet loss percentage is greater than zero, then your connection needs to be looked into.
  • Ping test: it is used to send packets of information to a server and check the round-trip time it takes i.e. time taken to the server and back. If you’ve chosen a recommended server by Pingtest, any good connection should give a ping test result of less than 100ms.
