Diskeeper 2010: Improved Hard Disk Defrag Utility

diskeeperThe majority of the computer users suffer from a common problem worldwide. They find their PCs slowing down over prolonged use and this happens to the users who take care of their computer too. This occurs mainly because of data fragmentation. The hard disk stores data on several sections in a scattered way and when the data gets split into various sectors of the drive, the hard disk spends more time in fetching them, resulting in slower performance. Defragmentation is a remedy to this problem. While Windows has a built in defragmentation utility it is not very effective. Diskeeper has a range of applications that are useful for hard disk maintenance.

Recently it has announced the availability of Diskeeper 2010 software. According to the company this software can resist 85% fragmentation in the Windows based PCs. As a result the need for scheduled hard disk defrag becomes unnecessary. Diskeeper makes use of IntelliWrite technology and it optimizes data write and read speeds. Besides, the hard disk is spared from excessive wear and tear and its longevity improves significantly.

As of now, Diskeeper is offering the software as a trial that can be used for free for a month. The company claims that the 2010 version of Diskeeper offers enhanced and faster performance than its predecessors. The users would be able to notice performance differences while using applications like AutoCAD and Photoshop that require big disk files. However, Diskeeper 2010 requires a small memory footprint and hence the users of slower systems need not worry about reduced performance in their PCs.

I have used the previous versions and they are really effective. I do not have to wait long for data to be copied from one location to another. I am sure that the new version will be also good.
