Ubisoft’s FPS offering for hardcore game aficionados, Call of Juarez proved to be extremely popular when it was released almost two years back. This year the company has released prequel to the original game titled ‘Call of Juarez: Bound In Blood’. It is a FPS with a gripping story-line and stunning graphics that makes the players feel as if they have been transported to the wild locales of the West all of a sudden. The story of the game revolves around a number of well known motifs of the West such as faith, greed, betrayal and honor etc.
The backdrop of this game is set ages before the time-span used in the first game. It focuses on the development and change in the McCall brothers-Thomas and Ray. The players who have seen Ray in the first game will be stunned to see his cold-hearted and lustful avatar in the prequel. The ending of the game is really moving and the players get to see the transformation taking place gradually. Both the brothers in the game are quite violent by temperament but Thomas is thoughtful as well. The players can don the hats of both the brothers in this game.
Throughout the game, the player can choose to play as either of the brothers barring a few missions. Most of the times in the prequel, the brother duo is seen in action and carnage together. As the game is set in the pre-modern era, the choice of weapons is quite limited. Thomas and Ray can use some types of pistols, shotguns and rifles in this game. There is a fair amount of adventure packed events apart from the intermittent gun fighting. The escape from the ancient temple as it gets swallowed by sand or the frantic chase on river by annoyed Native Americans will make your adrenaline rush. In some missions of Bound In Blood, the players need to be on Horseback.
Like most of the present generation FPS games Bound In Blood also has different difficulty levels. The default level is medium which most of the game freaks will find suitable. In the hard difficulty mode, the enemies become more powerful and the accuracy of their aim also increases significantly. The multi player version in Bound in Blood supports up to a dozen players. It is more flexible to play and offers a total of 5 modes and 8 maps.
Apart from a captivating game-play experience, Bound in Blood also offers awesome visuals for the players. The lush forests, open deserts, dusty rural stretches in Mexico-all look convincing. The interplay of light and shadow has been used in the game to great effects. The sound effects used in the game complements the jaw dropping visuals perfectly. The background score as well as the voice of the characters is authentic. The McCall brothers use a lot of Mexican accents in their dialogues. The game reminds one of the well known Hollywood flicks shot on the wild terrains of the west. You will need a powerful dual core AMD or Intel Processor and 2GB of RAM to run this game smoothly on your PC.
