Apple iPad Coming To Stores April 3rd – Pre Order From March 12th
Those of you who have been crouched over your credit cards ready to bounce as soon as you saw the iPad for order on Apple’s store won’t have to wait much longer. You can take your card out of its case now and get ready because as of March 12th, you will be able to order the Apple iPad direct from Apple, with the first shipment available April 3rd.
Apple today announced that you will be able to order both the Wi-Fi and 3G models of the iPad from its store as of March 12th. The iPad Wi-Fi only version will then be available from stores on April 3rd in the US only. The 3G model is set to come out in the US towards the end of April.
Beginning a week from today, on March 12, US customers can pre-order both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G models from Apple’s online store (www.apple.com) or reserve a Wi-Fi model to pick up on Saturday, April 3, at an Apple retail store.
What about the rest of us outside the US?, I hear you say. Well Apple are saying that all models of iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK in late April. But if you don’t live in one of these countries you may have to wait a bit longer.
Apple today announced that its magical and revolutionary iPad will be available in the US on Saturday, April 3, for Wi-Fi models and in late April for Wi-Fi + 3G models. In addition, all models of iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK in late April.
Apple have also added that their iBook store will be available from the 3rd of April in the US with other countries coming later in April.

- 32GB WiFi only — $599
- 64GB WiFi only — $699
- 16GB WiFi + 3G — $629
- 32GB WiFi + 3G — $729
- 64GB WiFi + 3G — $829
There had been reports of “manufacturing bottle necks” which would delay the shipment of the iPad and make it only available to limited markets at launch, so whether these “bottle necks” are true or Apple planned to release the iPad this way remain to be seen.
