Recently Opera released version 10.5 of their web browser for computers. Opera claimed that it is the fastest internet browser currently available. I am currently using Opera 10.5 on my computer and so far I am impressed. Page loading times for many websites do seem to be lesser on Opera than on Chrome or Firefox.
Now I look forward to be impressed by Opera’s new release: the second beta version of Opera Mini 5 for Android smartphones.

Smartphone users who have gotten bored of Opera Mini 4.2 will certainly be eager to finally get a new Opera Mini version to use. Version 5 will include tabbed browsing, Opera’s Speed Dial, Opera Link (which will let users synchronize bookmarks and Speed Dial between their handsets and computer), and a built-in download manager.
Apart from these features, Opera Mini 5 boasts certain properties which I believe will make internet browsing a lot more convenient for cellphone users.
For instance, with Page Zoom, we can zoom in on a certain area of a webpage. Opera shows us where the webpage begins and suggests the area we should start zooming in on. The browser also has a built-in password manager which will undoubtedly save our time whenever we are logging in on a website after the first time.

Of course the main focus has been on speed. According to Opera, “Opera Mini compresses pages by up to 90% before being sent to your phone, meaning faster page-load times than in other mobile Web browsers.”
If you are an Android smartphone user, you can get the Opera Mini by visiting http://m.opera.com/next/ from your phone. You can also click here and download the browser on your computer.
