Anti-Leech Plugin Messed Up My Feed - Apologies

I recently installed the Anti-Leech WordPress plugin. It worked fine on two of my other sites, but messed up the main feed on this site. I have turned it off until I work out why - apologies to anyone who’s been more gibberish than usual over the last two days!

Thanks to Ashish for [...]

Mine Is a Lot Bigger Than Yours

Don’t get jealous, but mine is a lot bigger than yours.  My WordPress Dashboard that is.  Thanks to the Admin Big Width WordPress plugin I’ve solved the annoying way that WordPress 2.5 uses bigger monitors.
For some reason the WordPress Dashboard header and footer has a flexible width, but the main body is limited at 1024 [...]

AntiLeech WordPress Plugin: Stop RSS Splogs In Their Tracks

There are so many plugins for WordPress, that it’s rare that a new one comes along that I think all WordPress users should install. However I’ve just discovered a new plugin that will help me sleep better at night.
AntiLeech is a WordPress plugin that stops Splogs, i.e. feed scrappers that steal other blogs traffic, [...]

HD TV In The UK - No Real Progress In 2 Years

I’m starting to get excited about watching the 2008 European Championships on TV. I’m due to have an operation on my back over the summer which is going to keep me housebound, so I’ll be able to watch a lot of the games.
The focus on the impending games has made me realise that HD [...]

Overclockers UK: Great Customer Service

Normally when I write a post about an online store e.g. Pixmania, it’s to warn readers not to shop there. However, after my most recent experience with Overclockers UK I have to do the exact opposite and encourage people to shop there.
I’ve spent a small fortune over the last month upgrading my PCs, TVs, [...]

Six Million People Walk Into Lampposts While Texting

I’m not sure about the stats quoted in this survey from the Daily Mirror newspaper in the UK, which isn’t exactly renowned for it’s quality journalism. The Mirror reported that six million people were hurt crashing into lampposts and bins last year while texting and talking on their mobiles.
The article went on to state [...]

5GHz 802.11n - Has Wifi Finally Come Of Age?

I’m in the middle of a house move that is taking forever to finalise. At the new pad I was intending to install network cabling and ethernet ports in each room, as in the past I’ve found that WiFi connections just aren’t good enough to stream HD video.
However, I’ve been reading up on new [...]

My Next Phone Upgrade: Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

I have a limited company that I put my blog expenses through to reduce my tax bill. I haven’t put my phone into the company name, because T-mobile wanted to put me on a new 12 month contract if I did so, which would have meant I wouldn’t be able to upgrade my current [...]

Start Vista Media Center In Media Only Mode

Windows Vista Media Center is a very good media center, and best of all it’s free. One nice feature within Windows Vista MCE is the media-only mode which gets rid of the windows minimise/close buttons in the top right so that your full screen is dedicated to your media.
Unfortunately there isn’t an option within [...]

Max Web Design Blog

I’ve just received my first sponsored review request via ReviewMe to write a post about a fellow blog. To be honest I found it quite hard to start the review as it’s rare that a first visit to a blog is to its homepage. Normally, the first visit is via a link direct [...]
