World of Warcraft: Should I avoid playing it?

The BBC reports that the success of World of Warcraft has helped boost the sales of Vivendi Universal’s games division to $150m. The game from Blizzard has now has two million subscribers in North America, Europe and South Korea, along with an additional 1.5
million in China.

I’ve been resisting playing this game as I’m worried about how much time it might take up if I get addicted. I’ve already decided I’m going to move on from AOK2 (I’m almost a 2K player) to AOK3 when it comes out and to also upgrade my PC at the same time.

Maybe I should get a second game at the same time to ’showcase’ my new PC.

Should I take the plunge?

    Yeah, you should…
    And no, you shouldn't.
If you have a weak spot for MMOs like me, then stay away. WoW has been the majority of my thought processes since I began playing.
However, if you have a strong will, and the capability to say “No.” Then by all means play it.
But, I've seen people fall victim to it's charms for long periods of time, only to emerge stronger in the end, with a strong resolve to never get hooked again… so it's really all up in the air…
But yeah, it's really great. I dare say the best MMORPG.
Best of luck if you begin.

i don’t know people find so attractive a mmorpg like wow when thre are out there so many fantasy mmorpgs better some are even free like rappelz or Phantasy Star Universe. But even some games like conquer online with crapy graphics and buggy game play have some success this day while some developers work their a**** to come with original things like scifi mmorpgs eg: citizen zero that have slow chances on taking a slice from the market. while this have been said you may consider what game you may wanna start playing cause there are full lists on the net that you may want to consult
