Daily Blog Tips recently ran a poll on this where the results surprised me.

I nearly always tend to use this, as I think it is worth it even if only 10% of readers come back to my blog.  Plus, over 50% of my readers use Firefox where it just opens in a new tab which I actually prefer personally.

What's your view?

I posted there, it is a matter of preference actually. I stopped using target after I started using XHTML 1.1 for all my sites, which is a lot stricter.

Yes, I've always preferred it, and especially now with Firefox tabs. I actually am bugged if a new window doesn't open.

I don't particularly use the new IE, but does that have the option of right-click, open in new tab like Firefox?

I don't actually use new window links anymore... maybe I should.
