Blog Comments, Technorati Authority and Passing Time
Many of us have used blog comments to jumpstart a new website. Links are a commodity, and beyond the benefit they impart when it comes to SEO, it’s easy to get caught up in a numbers obsession. Feverishly watching Analytics numbers, Alexa ranking, Pagerank and Technorati authority are all symptoms of this disorder.
Good links [...]
Move Over Alexa, Here Comes IZEARanks
The problem with web metrics provided by Alexa and Compete is that their numbers are totally dependent on what they gather from users who are using their Firefox and Internet Explorer toolbars. Mostly this consists of people who are trying to inflate their website’s Alexa and Compete ranking by running the toolbar. In other words, [...]

If there’s one thing I really hate, it’s being called a liar. Particularly by someone who doesn’t know me.
There’s a shameless linkbait post that calls into question whether the online earnings of bloggers that report their earnings, including myself, are genuine. I responded to the post straight away vouching for my own earnings, [...]
Feedback On Better Alexa Redirect Plugin
A couple of people asked me to give feedback on my experiences with the Better Alexa Redirect Plugin. I’ve just turned the plugin off after letting it run for a few days and seeing no change in my Alexa Rank.

So, I started looking around for additional measures I [...]

Since I moved my domain petersen-inc.dk to www.betanews.com on July 3rd, a lot has happened. My old Google Page Rank hasn’t returned…yet and my Alexa Rank is down [...]
Update On Improving Alexa Rank Experiment
It’s been nearly 3 months since I kicked off the joint Improving Alexa Rank Experiment. Since the start of the experiment my Alexa Rank has increased as a result from 26,024 to 17,687. I’m certain that improving my Alexa Rank has made it easier to sell Text Link Ads and Sponsored Reviews.
It’ll [...]
MyBlogEarnings For May 2007
End of the month and time for another MyBlogEarnings report. As previously promised, I will keep producing these reports as judging by the feedback on previous reports, a lot of readers have found them useful. Writing the reports has also proven useful for me, as the comments left have given me a [...]
