Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Problogger?

Recently I’ve been asking myself the question above everyday. Daniel has published 10 Requisites For Professional Bloggers that might give you an indication of whether you’ve got what it takes. (Update: It’s been submitted to Digg already!)
Over the last month or so I’ve started to see the benefits of spending a few hours everyday [...]

Quick Links 19-02-07: Digg Mafia Edition

I’m dedicating this set of links to the great posts that referenced Ajay’s article on ‘Why The Digg Mafia will cost Kevin Rose Millions‘.
This one is my favourite. I wanted to leave a comment but you have to register to comment and I refuse to ever do that. Adam speculates what the Digg [...]

Techtites Vs The Digg Mafia - Who Won?

Yesterday evening a small war developed between the Digg Mafia who were determined to bury Ajay’s post ‘Why The Dig Mafia Will Cost Kevin Rose Milions‘, which had been submitted to Digg by Brajeshwar one of Digg’s top posters. Despite being submitted by Brajeshwar, the same Digg Mafia that Ajay discussed in his post [...]

Why The Digg Mafia Will Cost Kevin Rose Millions

I’ve just received two trackbacks from a Techtities post entitled ‘Why The Digg Mafia Will Cost Kevin Rose Millions‘, (Update: it’s now been submitted to Digg - lets see what happens if it hits the homepage…) on Digg which suggests that not only are the actions of the ‘Digg mafia’ driving away potential digg users, [...]

Digg Community Loyalty

Whatever you may think of the quality of Digg, you can’t deny that they have a loyal, if slightly misguided sometimes, userbase. Just look at the abuse a Yahoo blog received when Digg users found out that a recent re-design ‘borrowed’ some ideas from Digg.
I just hope that I never get on the wrong [...]

One Third Of Digg’s Homepage Stories Were Submitted By 30 Users

the Wall Street Journal did an in-depth study of the new breed of influencers on the web. One of the sites they profiled was Digg, and they found that one third of Digg’s Homepage Stories Were Submitted By 30 Users. I bet that if that if the Wall Street Journal published the rest [...]

Why Does Digg Have Additional Cats When All The Posts Just Get Buried?

Digg has been criticized recently for having a small group of extremely active users who exert a significant amount of influence over which submissions get onto the digg homepage. I was skimming through each of Digg’s categories today to see which articles were making the homepage, and I noticed a disturbing pattern. [...]

Digg Killed My Hard Drive

Apologies for the awful site performance - one of my Hard Drives failed literally the second I got onto the Digg hompage, and the remaining drive not surprisingly couldn’t cope with 2k+ connections on its own….The attached image shows how bad things got with my load hitting 281!
The new HDD is now in, and things [...]
