Ohio Hotel To Implement RFID Room-Key Wriststraps

The Great Wolf Lodge in Ohio is rolling out RFID-enabled wristbands when the hotel opens on December 14. The wristband will open your hotel room door and pay for food and drinks at various locations while on the theme-park island.
I’m started to find the potential for RFID technology exciting.  My dreamshot would be to have [...]

14 days And Counting

I’m really starting to get excited about getting a Xbox 360. There are only 4 days left to go until the lucky Yanks get their mitts on them but Engadget have been lucky enough to get a preview version.
There’s another 14 days to go in the UK and I think I’ve secured one. [...]

Playstation 3 - Can You Wait 5-7 Months?

Engadget were lucky enough to play a Xbox 360 for a few hours and left very impressed. The reviewer signs off with the following comment:
Yeah, so the PS3 will probably have the edge over the Xbox 360 in graphics and sheer computational power, but after actually playing some of these games it’s hard to [...]

Sony May Delay PS3 Until 2007

Analysts at Wedbush Morgan Securities believe that Sony may delay the release of the PS3 until 2007 if the Xbox 360 launch is less than stellar. I think this would be an absolute disaster as there is no way potential customers who were prepared to wait 2006 for the PS3 will wait until 2007.

More Video iPod Rumours

Engdget have noticed that Apple have changed the trademark for the iPod to include the word ‘video’. I’m almost certain that a video iPod is imminent now. I hope it’s at least 80Gb as I need more storage.

Windows Mobile Device With QWERTY Keyboard

Engadget have some great images of the new HTC phone which features a full QWERTY keyboard and 320×240 screen along with WiFi and Bluetooth - perfect for sending lots of emails and SMSs.
I’ve seen a few Windows Mobile devices sporting full thumboards now, but I have a sneaky feeling that the new Sony Ericsson P1000 [...]

Cowon iAudio 60Gb

Cowon have had a change of heart and are going to make the 60Gb iAudio X5 model after all according to engadget. Maybe this will be my iPod alternative, although reviews are mixed.
Why is no-one challenging Apple’s domination of mp3s?

Wireless Tech Will Lead To Longer Working Hours

A new report, “Office of the future: 2020″ paints a pretty bleak view of how wireless technology will change the way we work.
“With the proliferation of wireless technology, staff will be expected to remain in close contact with the office while they’re away,” it says, in part. “Eighty-six percent of executives surveyed said workers will [...]

iRiver To Launch PSP/DS Rival

I’m not sure about the sense in entering an already very competitive marketplace, but ReignCom the parent company of iRiver have decided to enter the portable gaming market.
Going head to head with the PSP, or DS is potential suicide in my view (Ask anyone at Gizmondo!) but ReignCom want to build a device that “compete” [...]

Engadget using Technorati/Cosmos

After recently removing Trackbacks because of spam, Engadget have just added Technorati/Cosmos to their site.
I don’t reallly see though how this is better than trackbacks for controlling spam? Surely Cosmos can be abused the same way as Trackbacks?
I’ve also found Technorati to not be 100% reliable at picking up links.
