I finally worked out how to blog from Flickr using blogware. The following settings do the trick:

Blog Type: BloggerAPI enabled blog
API endpoint: http://www.blogware.com/xmlrpc.cgi
Username and password as normal - though you might need your username in all lower case. I did, for some reason.

I've just registered for my Flickr account to do some testing.  This guide must be the most complete on the internet. 
Quick online tips has loads of other useful stuff on it -well worth a visit.

Thanks again to Problogger for keeping me up to date with what is happening in the sector.
Flickr is a great little service, and it is good to see that the little guys can still launch services that will be of interest to the big guys.
