Google started testing yesterday a mobile-phone service that searches websites that have been designed to deliver content customized for the small screens of mobile phones.
Google Mobile Web Search targets sites that use XHTML as the technology for delivering content to handsets, which allows a a web server to deliver content tailored to the accessing device.

Google Is World’s Richest Media Empire
Seems like the crazy dot com valulations are back. Google is now the world’s largest media company based on market capitalisation. It’s market cap is now 44Bn, or 25 times earnings - that’s 2Bn more than its nearest rival Time Warner.
For those of us who were around the last time valuations got out of control [...]
Problogging - how much can you really make?
Jason Calacanis of Weblogs has announced that they are generating $2K per day on Google Adsense. Darren of Problogger thinks that this could be increased by 10% per day if they included ads within the content.
The figures may sound impressive, but Weblogs run 78 blogs - that’s an average of $26 per day or [...]

Problogger has discovered that Feedburner now can include Adsense ads in their feeds. I’m going to give it a go - I’m already getting more than enough from Adsense to cover my blogging but it’ll be interesting to see how much I can increase it by as my feed readers account for about 10% [...]

I remember when I first started using babelfish in 1998 when I was working in Corporate Finance and I constantly had to translate Finnish, Swedish, Danish and German documents and webpages into English. The translation was good enough to get the gist but in some cases it came up with gibberish.
Now Google’s research arm [...]
Will Mozilla Ever Be Suitable For The Mass Market?
I’m beginning to question whether Firefox/Mozilla is really suited to the mass market. Firefox/Mozilla is designed for those users who want to customise their browsing experience - I don’t think the basic user will want to do this.
Also, if they were to do this they would run the risk of making the browser too [...]
Google Stops Downloads Of Its Web Accelerator
Google has disabled downloads of its Web Accelerator software less than a week after introducing the service. The suspension follows reports that the software was caching sensitive content, such as user control panels to online forums and even potentially online banking details.

Google Web Accelerator
I used to run several accelerators back in the day when I had dial-up and now Google have launched a web accelerator with a difference-it’s optimised for broadband connections.
I have a sneaky feeling that they will offer the free tool to get more information on what pages you are visiting, and the order you visit [...]
