More Adsense Customisation Options

The team at Google Adsense have been busy of late. Two months ago they updated the overall look and feel of Adsense units to make them look a lot fresher.
Now, they’ve just added some more Adsense customisation options, and publishers can now decide whether to have square, slightly rounded or very rounded corners.

Google Reader Outage - Did Your Traffic Fall Yesterday?

Google Reader suffered a major outage yesterday and many feeds weren’t updated. Luckily Downloadsquad made it through otherwise I wouldn’t have realised, although I did think something strange was going on as I cleared all my feeds out in a record 15 minutes.
It’ll be interesting to hear if your traffic was down on Monday, [...]

Updated Guide: How To Tidy Up MP3 ID3 Tags

My post ‘Tidy Up iTunes MP3 Collection’ is now nearly two years old, yet it is still one of the most popular posts each month. Given the mess that iTunes made of my iTunes library when I installed Vista I’ve had a lot of time to update my tagging methods.
My method below may seem [...]

Google Accounts For 24% Of All Wikipedia Traffic

According to Wikipedia’s traffic logs, Google accounts for 24% of Wikipedia’s traffic. A big number, but I actually expected it to be higher. Given that Wikipedia appears to be able to survive without Google’s traffic, do you think it’s time Google removed or gave less precedence to Wikipedia’s results?

Feedburner FAN Already Benefiting From Google Acquisition?

I think that Feedburner are already benefiting from being acquired by Google, which appears to have raised their profile with advertisers. Over the last couple of days I’ve had to approve way more Feedburner FAN adverts than usual, mainly from advertisers I haven’t seen before.  Are other Feedburner FAN partners having a similar [...]

Google Adsense Now Permits 3 Ad Link Units

Google Adsense may be many bloggers’ best friend, but their communication is pretty poor. I’ve been using Google Adsense for nearly 2 years now, and I’ve never received a newsletter or an update.  Instead, I have to rely on the blogosphere for news.
The latest change to Google Adsense’s TOS is that 3 Ad [...]

Serious About Blogging? Then Read This Post About Google PageRanks (Twice!)

Almost every blogger and site owner is obsessed about their Google PageRank. The problem is, no-one can say for certain exactly how it works and Google are fairly quiet on the subject, so that the algorithm doesn’t get abused. It would probably be the biggest online joke ever if Google PageRank’s played no [...]

Ten WordPress Plugins I Couldn’t Live Without

It’s been a while since I’ve given details of my favourite WordPress plugins. It’s rare now that I install a new plugin as I’ve tried so many in the past, as it’s not often that a new one appears that I haven’t tried a similar variant of in the past.
At the moment these are [...]
